Started things off early this morning with one of my last JL pet coronas.

I have just opened a new box of ERDM Coronas Deluxe from 1998, which I will give some time to rest before comparing them to the JL.

The JL will be a tough little cigar to beat though.

Just had a Upmann Coronas Junior after lunch. quite long smoke (50 minutes) for such a small thin gauge cigar. Not bad although it went a bit hot towards the end.

I had a Partagas SDN4 with a long glass of Chivas Regal. It was a great pleasure...

2005 Boli PC - very pleasant - fairly mild to start, almost Trinidadish

just had a lovely cup of coffee in the back garden (grey clouds overhead), nothing fancy, nescafe gold blend, and a tasty wee cuaba traditionale! very nice......very similar i find to the bolivar no. 2!

need to stock up on some singles tomorrow, any suggestions? getting bored of the same 'small' selections (cohiba maduro secretos, cuaba traditionale, partagas tres petite corona, monte no. 5, RyJ cedro no. 3)!!!!

                  Traffic jams

2001 RA PC tonight on the way home from work. Traffic in Oxford has been shocking over the last week so might as well put the time to good use. Nice stick but the RA flavours are to muted for my liking.

senor robusto, if you're looking for more smokes of a similar size, then perhaps the San Cristobal El Principe is worth a look at. There's also the Siglo I and Trinidad Reyes that are worth a look. All of them are medium strength sticks.

If you'd like to try something a bit bigger, but still at the manageable end of the spectrum, then El Rey del Mundo's Petit Corona is another excellent, medium strength cigar. Their Lunch Club is similar in size with a slightly different taste; I haven't tried it myself before, but seems to get good reviews.

ERDM Lonsdale at the Inn on the Beach with a few Amstel beers, not a bad smoke for the price! H Upmann Monarchs in the Garden Inn with a couple of blondes (that's Leffe Blondes) just now - very satisfying I can tell ye

Though, I suspect, not quite as satisfying as a couple of Swedish blondes...

Trinidad Reyes or Ramon Allones Small Club Corona. A bit fatter but have you tried the Hoyo Petit Robusto?

hello again, simonjgriffithshr! thanks for the advice! i've a load of 'bigger' sized cigars in my humidor (monte no. 3, ryj short churchills, psd4, partagas culebras, ryj no. 2 & mille fleurs), just i don't always have the time to sit and smoke them (i like to spend at least an hour or more with my cigars)! the cold weather's coming in, and since i don't have anywhere to smoke other than the back garden, i was looking something small so i can still enjoy my coffee & cigar during the cold autumn/ winter!
so far i've tried most of what my tobacconist has on offer in this size range, cohiba (siglo I, exquisitos, maduro secretos), montecristo (no. 5), RyJ (cedros no. 3), cuaba (traditionale), partagas (tres petite corona)! i'm hoping puro get some more monte no. 5 (5 packs) and cohiba maduro secretos (X10) in stock! in the meantime, i'm looking suggestions of what to get and what not to get!

                            cheers,

                            alex
