This #4 went down so nicely that I might have to have a bigger Monte this afternoon

Partagas Serie D No.4 - Courtesy of franco

First full bodied cigar I've had. Peppery but still smooth and not overpowering. Not a bad smoke in the sun 😉

Cracking cigars IMO - you should try the Series E No2 too!

Thanks for the recommendation 👍🏻 I'll add it to the list!

Any thoughts on the Serie P No.2?

Damn fine cigars, but they do need an awful lot of rest to really show their best

This is what's always surprised me about how popular they've become, isn't the D4 the worlds biggest seller now?

Considering they really aren't smokable for a good few years then become very very good this seems odd. Unless the vast majority of smokes are really bought by people that know what they're doing!

I don’t think a P2 is an un-smokeable cigar in its early years - far from it. But the cigar really does have legs for ageing potential and shows it. Remember that’s just my opinion. Bit like the Monte No 2 which would be similar ageing profile in my opinion.

I think you also need to take account of the production year. Certainly most recent 2019 production year does appear to be a better production year generally for Cuba

I'd missed you'd moved on from the D4, do they smoke better younger than a D4 in your experience. The D4's I've had with 5 years on them have been night and day from one's under a couple of years.

Wow, this is one of the best cigars I smoked recently. Beautiful creamy flavour with tons of oily notes. From the very first draw this was on full throttle. No harsh flavours even down to the nub.

If you can get a hold of these, give them a try,you can't go wrong

To be honest - with early D4’s I had a couple of tubos and a couple of singles as samplers but I’ve no idea if they were really young or had a few years on them, but I loved them from the off. They certainly stand up against a 2014 box I am working my way through - which suggests my early ones already had legs on them. I will have to try one from a 2018 box and see?

Absolutely! I can't see anyone not liking these.
