Escogidos night tonight. Started well but lost its flavor and aroma after half way and wouldn't stay lit after that. So ditched it and had a moan at Sean Croley about it!

I think they were from a jar that someone here was splitting a while back

Not quite edicion limitada. That's the lcdh band. A range of cigars only available from official lcdh specialist stores.

Monte No4 was my fist Havana & I guess many started that way. In the latter 20thCentury, these were the biggest selling Cuban's & were widely available, e.g. restaurants, clubs, even more upmarket pubs. I bought several boxes over my first few yrs & really enjoyed them. Once I started trying other Havanas I realised that the Monte profile was 'rather middle of the road' & therefore a good entry point but there where others I enjoyed more. Then for a decade I didn't smoke the No4 & then Moondancer sent me a few & I enjoyed everyone. I think the consistency has improved now, being the biggest sell prev meant high volume & therefore the quality of the tobacco & rollers certainly suffered.

R&J Short Churchill or cheaper vitolas like the Tubos No3 would be worth trying similar strength & a brand I also considered to be middle of the road in the Marca's but worth enjoying this area before expanding into the fuller flav/ larger cigars IMHO. As a firm fav Hoyo's are a delight when aged (difficult for a newbie to find I know) but should you get around in due course, to attending a herf you may be luckily enough to be offered one.

I had a similar experience with the one that I smoked when they released them. Haven't had another one since.

                            Hahaha.

I still purchased a box back then but didn't grab another single. Don't really want to dig into the box, if I don't like them it will be hard to get rid of an incomplete box.

Maybe it needs 7 years down.
