Enjoying a lunch time coffee and waffles.
The Boli Soberano is growing into something really nice, lots of choco and exotic wood. Hope you all stored some😎
At a friend's son's Christening, Exquisitos 2016. Wonderful sunny day, with old friends. I have known John's (in photo), father since '81, when we both served at Culdrose & I persuaded him to take a year's draft as Medic to 30 RM's in the Falkland's. The week he arrived, the invasion began & he was taken POW. And yet he still speaks to me!

OK I'm sure the PoW experience was not gravy. And glad it had a happy ending. But excellent story!

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...
Indeed Banos, they were deliberately humiliated but of course they could of all been shot, they h ad disappeared 10,000 of their own people after all.
After some survivors leave (originally intended for those who survived their ship being sunk), they were offered to go back & help re-take the Island's. A couple chose not to, the rest Inc my friend went back as Juliet Reserve Company. I think this helped restore their self-esteem & last Nov, they went back for a reunion & were very warmly welcomed.

Naval Party 8901. Their story well told in TV film 'An Ungentlemanly Act' (Bob Peck, Ian Richardson, 1992). Worth watching, as is, of course, the impressive 'Tumbledown' (Colin Firth's first big role).
