Can't quite believe these still smoke after being neglected for 10 years

Davidoff Late Hour Churchill. It's not bad... Supposedly aged in whisky casks, not that I can tell. Bought for around €27. £55+ in the UK!!

Visiting SIL in Geel, Belgium. Had a massive meaty lunch & it was 24oC+, would have been rude not to. Outside the Irish Bar. These continue to be excellent smokes.

This is quite awful. Fortunately, I only bought one. A total waste of €22.
                Overpowering pepper and tongue-bite....euugh! thankfully

I had this same experience with My Father cigars. Let them rest for a year and they're fantastic.

Yea, I heard they were supposed to be VERY nice.

Are there any cigars that smoke nice right away or do they all need time? I don't want to get some and think they're 💩 if I don't leave them alone

Had the same experience with two different Gurkha blends - both seriously underwhelming although far short of unpleasant. I know they are generally raved about. Do they maybe need some ageing before use. As NC I had assumed not, but maybe they do ? Would be interested in peoples opinions.

The EP Carrillo range are excellent as well as Placensia. The NC world is a bit of a minefield in general but there are some real gems.

My advice would be to buy fivers of a few of the highly regarded sticks and smoke one of each periodically to see if they're where you want them.

Yeah. They need time. Put them to the back of the humidor. Forget they are there. Forever...

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

My favourite new world brand of cigar is Padron, in my experience you can smoke them straight from the box, I haven’t tried every type of Padron cigar available but all the cigars I have smoked have been excellent, unfortunately they are quite expensive though.
