My second ever Por Larrañaga Montecarlos. The first was a plugged disappoinment, but this one is fantastic. Being left to settle and given a gentle poke with the draw tool before lighting has done wonders

Bring the humidity down to 63% for skinnies, or dry box for 2-3 days for greatly improved draw.

I run all my Cubans at 62, so they're usually around that. This one had a tight spot just around the band, which was fine with a quick little poke.

I'm annoyed with how nice it was especially as the last third had some very interesting flavours but was still too fresh to properly enjoy - I may have to get a box...

Yes, more likely in fresh stix, aging does help. 90% of plugs occur around the band & if you haven't got the Perfect draw with you (a little tricky on slimmer stix), then a cocktail stick or sharp matchstick will help. 😉
