    HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026

Here in Greece, on December 31st exactly at 12, we turn off the lights and exchange wishes-hugs-kisses among ourselves. Shortly after or the next day, on the morning of January 1st, it is customary to cut a specially made pie, the Vasilopita which has a coin inside. The name comes from Saint Basil (from Caesarea in Asia Minor, which was once a Byzantine city). First, we cut a piece for Christ, the house, the poor, the Saint and then one for each member of the family.
If the family is small, then we also cut a piece for the animal, one for the car-motorcycle, so the whole pie will finished. If the coin falls on a member of the family it brings good luck, if it falls on someone else, it is a blessing for it, this year for us it fell between the piece of Christ and our house.

PS: As you can see, the sugar powder didn't hold up well on the top of the pie, usually the top is white as snow. It doesn't matter, may we all be well and healthy this year, i wish you all health and have good smoking for all the 2026!

We're off to MIL for this fixed tradition shortly. The favourite nephew and young niece always miraculously find the one coin.... The MIL healthy gluten free recipe for this cake is ... Well I avoid it. Kali xronia / happy new year.

I've already started on my enforced resolution. It's just an easier life than fight it ... Got to lose weight and eat according to wife's version of healthy. It's going to be a miserable new year food wise...

      .--
I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

            HVC Edition Especial 2015 Maduro

            Corona 5 x 46

Typical Nicaraguan Maduro 1st third: Upfront black pepper, rich, bit of leather.

Good transition in the 2nd third: It stays super rich, the pepper is still there, but it takes a black seat to baking spices, a bit of chocolate and sweetness.

Last third, sweetness, chocolate and spices intensifies. The pepper and warmth is in balance and I smoke it down to the nub.

Delicious. The dog enjoyed the 2h walk as much I did the smoke in open countryside. The cigar took just over an hour to smoke.
