Drove a 300mile round trip to HMS Raliegh, Torpoint. 48yrs ago this 11th July, I walked through the gate, start basic training & my 12yr career as an RN Medic.
Invited back to a Medic's symposium for current serving Medic's, with a dozen invited Veteran's to give some of their experience & tips.
I smoked one of my 1990 R&J Panatelas during the lunch break, as that was the year I met my wife, whilst serving on HMS Roebuck & we visited Antwerp fir the weekend. That night I met my wife to be & a few months later left the RN & started Offshore.
In the evening after a Mess diner in the Senior Rates Mess, I smoked an ERDM DT.
Staying in the Officer's Wardroom was a nice touch & an upgrade from the 30 man Mess I started in!
