Instead of smoking it up in Brum I am in my office with a cold and conjunctivitis. Someone post some pics to cheer me up.

A huge thank you to Keith for putting on a great day.

It was great to see some familiar faces and meet other UKCF members for the first time (I am terrible remembering names though so apologies if I forget!).

A special thank you to Rob from JJFoxes, who made us all laugh throughout the event and gifted some glorious smokes.

It was nice being driven there by Alan (GravityJohnson), being a driver I ended up having all his free rum and whisky, though sadly I am suffering for it this morning

Finally I was a lucky winner (along with bfg) in the 'blind tasting', guessing correctly that it was a Juan Lopez Selection Suprema. Both of us came away with a giant Oliva ashtray, which was christened on the day!

Smokes I managed to get through (that I remember *hic*) are: Fuente Rosados, Padron 45yr gr, Juan Lopez Selection Suprema, H. Upmann Mag 50, Partagas Serie D Especial LE, Romeo y Julieta Escudos.

Thank you again Keith and all who made it a memorable event, roll on the next 'Big Smoke!'

        Dave

A huge massive big thank you to Keith and everyone else involved in organising this amazing event. Both Martin and I had a fabulous time and it was lovely not to be the only female smoker, great to see some SOTL indulging in some lovely cigars.

Really looking forward to the next one Keith!

Got to echo all the comments about what a great event this was, massive thanks to Keith and all his very attentive crew who looked after us for the afternoon. Good to meet new faces from the forum; John, Geoff, Dan, Rhiannon, Dave and catching up again with Pete and Stephan. Good to chat too with Rob from Foxes and Daniel from Turmeaus Mayfair!

The identity of the mystery cigar is a major shock, been trying to source a box of the JLSS in GIB today, everybody was calling it as NC! Very glad I have mine spare in my humi now for a sunny day.

I urge anyone on here to make the trip to Brum to pay a visit to the Prince, an Oasis outside of London!

                    Cheers again Keith!

                    • Had a great time,
it was nice to catch up with everybody and meet lots of people for the first time confirming my belief that cigar smokers are a top class bunch of people!
Got through loads of cigars, the stand out of the night for me being my first ever Boli GM which was kindly gifted on the night by Geoff (monkeynuts).
Also enjoyed the whisky tasting of which im not normally a big fan finding one in particular Auto........something (id had a few by then) to be lovely so I will defo be picking up a bottle at some point.
Also to top off a great night I was lucky enough to win along with Smokey Dave, the mystery cigar comp, the prize being an Oliva ash tray!
Would like to thank Keith for putting on the event and for being a great Host as ever.
                      Cheers every one,

                      Dan

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

                      • I can only add my support to the comments made about the event on Monday.

I was really surprised at the venue, it is a great smokers pub. If you haven't been find an excuse to go, it is worth it.
Keith - thanks to you and your wife for hosting and to the girls who kept coming to ask if I wanted another drink. It was a really well run event.

On refelction (and to note for next time) it would have been better to stay overnight - I drove and so had to stick to non alcohiolic drinks which meant I missed the whisky tasting which is a shame as it is collecting and drinking whisky is my main hobby.

I did have a small taste of Keith's favourite Rum though - Goslings - and will be looking out for a bottle.

Thanks to everyone who spoke to "Billy No Mates". It is nice to put faces to names.

There were planty of Forum members there but not as many as I thought were going to make it. Maybe next time....

I brought my event smokes home as well as a couple of extra's from Keith's shop. All are sitting in my Humi waiting for the right weather.

                          • Sorry to have missed this , I shall pop into the Prince of Wales on the spur when the weather brightens up perhaps some BOTL will do the same with fairly short notice as this is a great venue.
Meanwhile who took the photos !
