What goes on at the party stays at the party, besides after that many glasses of bubbly and three Mojoto's not to mention a cigar in each hand and a roasted pork roll on the side, I couldn't handle a camera, how about you Deano, Ryan??Nic

Good to meet you guys there, I had a great time in London. I don't know what happened at the end of the night, I was talking with a couple of people towards the end of the evening and next thing I was dragged away to a pub. I'm not sure where I was or how I got back to the hotel..
You've got some really good cigar people and retailers there. I had very interesting chats with Simon, Jemma and David of Hunters as well as some retailers like Edward Sahakian and Ajay Patel.
I didn't make it out to the LCDH yesterday, I spent a large part of the day in a chair in JJ Fox with a cigar. I found some very good, hard to find stuff there. I got to have a look at the new sampling room they're opening upstairs, it will be very nice when it's finished.
Overall a great time, I'll do it again.Last edited by Ryan; 18-06-2009, 10:36 AM.

I was initially against the marketing idea behind these from a "leave well enough alone" point of view but I quite enjoyed to one I had on Tuesday. I have only smoked one, the Regata (belicoso size) as yet but there were decent cocoa/coffee Monte flavours from it. Maybe a little on the mild side but to be honest that was about my 9th cigar of the day on Tuesday. I'd say give them a go, I believe they'll be out in a couple of weeks.Originally posted by Pantomimehorse View Postwhat are your thoughts on the Monte Open range for those who tried it? is it as dull as people have been saying?

Gutted...!!!
I was at the party also, got the train up from Winchester at 11ish, went straight to JJ Foxs where Jean & Bill looked after me superbly with a SDN5 a Hoyo No.2 and copious amounts of coffee before going to Europas in Albemarle St where I had pasta Amatricana & a bottle of the house red before returning to Foxs to have a Nub(!!!) and a house demi petit corona. Then it was on the tube (nightmare as someone had thrown themselves under the train at Finsbury), finally got to Liverpool St at 6:45ish where I went straight to Devonshire Sq with ticket in hand to receive my Montecristo Opens 'Junior, Master & Regatta' (bit mild for me!!!) which was accompanied by lashings of Moet Chandon & Mojitos. Chatted with loads of people there including Simon & John from H&F, Armando the cigar roller & various others (If only I'd joined this time last week, hey ho!!!). Ended up leaving around 10:00ish as had to get back to Waterloo to get the train home.
Maybe next year...
