    Guys

Last year myself and simon organised a Raffle & Auction of cigars and cigar related goodies for charity

All I which we sourced ourselves at our cost

I would like to do this again this year with your help

Basically if you wish to donate anything cigar related be it a cigar or lighter or box of matches , cutters please send it to me and I will either put it into the auction lots or raffle prizes

    Might even be a tombola

All lots donated will be posted on this thread and by whom

Please donate and make this a lot of fun like last year for those who cannot attend you can still donate and you will be able to bid prior to the auction as well

    Please get involved

If anyone needs an address to post to me please PM

    Thanks in advance Martyn

1st lot has already been donated by CohibaIv

Hi Matt, the charity last year was Combat Stress, it supports ex-servicemen & women with Post traumatic Stress & other mental health issues. I started supporting this charity after I learnt that more Falklands Vets had committed suicide than had been killed in the war. They couldn't find help & were taking up to 13yrs to seek some in the first place. They say this is now down to 9yrs, which I think is still too long, especially for the families who have to live with these problems & the fallout if they break up. Last yr was the 4th yr I have raised money through UKCF & we have raised in total over ?1,000.

Great idea Martyn, to ask for donations; I am sure many would like to donate a few sticks or an accessory or two. I would suggest one persons donation will be bundled & made into a lot as we can say Lot one donated by JoeMonycristo ect. I will of course be donating some rare & unusual sticks for deep within the Boli Cave. I suggest, as last year there can be raffle tickets sold on UKFC site & on the night so members who can't attend can take part. The draw will be done there, in front of everyone. The auction lots will be announced before hand & bids can be sent before the night by those who can't attend but of course those who attend will be able to bid on the night.

Please remember when donating that items may have to be posted so best avoid very heavy or bulky items. I will personally pay normal signed for postage for any items won by non-attending members. This aspect of last years herf was a real highlight & proved very popular, most people ended up with something & some members got very lucky!

Thanks again Martyn for thinking of this, I look frwd to assisting you as our Chief Auctioner!
PS Sorry Deano, I forgot to ask, this is of course if your happy for us to proceed with this again?

We could split the proceeds 50-50 if you like Martyn & if the members would be happy with that?

                  Simon,

My late father (passed away aged 52) was a Falklands veteran. 40 Commando Recce, Charlie Company. He suffered with PTSD terribly and so did we!

Anything you can do to stop other suffering is great work Simon.

Im a newbie, I dont have a humidor yet. I buy sticks and smoke them there and then.

I am willing to buy a cigar or two to donate if that is something you're happy for me to do. I can't guarantee they will be super-duper LE's but I'm happy to do what I can.

                  Thanks again Simon,

                  Matt

I am sorry for your loss, speaking as a mere 55yo, 52 is no age to leave family & loved ones.
Many thanks for offering but my suggestion would be just to put the money you were thinking of buying a couple of cigars for & buy the raffle tickets instead. We need players as well as donators & who knows maybe you'll get lucky & end up with some cigars you have never tried before.
When you get your PM status, surely any day now! You can always pm me for a chat mate.

                        Simon,

Thank you for your kind words. They do mean a lot.

Thanks also for the advice on the raffle. I will certainly be buying raffle tickets!

Happy to chat further once PMs are instated, for cigar advice also!
