Sampling means you 'sample' theirs dude!

I think they run to coffee, no alcohol. You need to head on to 10 Manc with Cohiba IV for that I am afraid.

If anyone wants to join Deano and I to try it out I suggest we rendezvous outside the Ritz at 5.00pm and make our way down for a small stick.

The Lounge closes at 7.00pm. If you can't be at the Ritz for 5.00pm sharp PM me for my mobile number and I will give you directions on the evening.
I think I can make the Ritz for 5.00..... room for one more?

Certainly is. Wear a green rain coat with a white rose in your left lapel button hole, carry a copy of Moby Dick (the Readers Digest first edition with the leather cover)

I think there are just 5 beautiful leather seats but if there are too many we will just have to take it in turns.

                    Looking forward to it.

OK, so I finally found out all about this and I am somewhat disappointed, but the reality may be better than what I have heard.

There used to be an old tobacconists around the corner from Berry Brothers. It closed down years ago and has been sitting dormant for some years but the building is still owned by British American Tobacco. Well with the change in property tax laws it no longer makes sense for the place to sit empty, not generating revenue. With the involvement of JJ Fox they have decided to turn this store into an outlet for the BAT range of cigars. BAT own the Davidoff brand, as well as some others but of course all non-Cuban.

Now you know me, I defend the odd NC as being a good smoke. I do not subscribe to the school of thought that the only good cigar is a Cuban cigar, BUT the main attraction to NC's is the vastly lower cost. I do not see the attraction of heading to London to smoke NC's at a price that is not far short of a Cuban. JJ Fox sell (as an example) the Oliva range of NC's that have a very good reputation but for the mid-teens of pounds, I get them in the states for about five dollars!

From what I understand, at first anyway, this establishment will be restricted to the BAT range of NC's. This may change in the future since JJ Fox is involved but again that does not make much sense to me as Fox's have recently opened a sampling lounge upstairs.

This all seems a little odd but the proof is in the eating. The picture we have seen of the venue looks lovely and with the suggestion of some decent drink on the premise also, but the legality and reality of that I know nothing about. The fact they have a Nespresso machine there also raises my interest.

It is possible I have been told about a different venue entirely, but it seems unlikely. This does however mean it is a venue we probably cannot smoke our own cigars at but that is hardly a surprise.
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"

Sorry guys I was busy with a major sugar rush yesterday so I missed T's update.

I somehow knew it would be T who wheedled out the truth, just genuinely surprised it took so long.

So yes, T is right on the venue and as to the cigars...I have been into the walk in humidor and I would watch this space on the cigars on sale.

They don't have a licence so it will be coffee and cigars only.

One thing is for certain, it's certainly the sexiest spot in London to smoke a cigar.

I for one can't wait to spark up!
