Sounds great, I always fancied having a go. In my part of London we only have sawn off numbers, is that OK?

Generally I have found that it's best not to argue with a chap pointing a sawn-off. So, yes, more than okay!

Numbers are looking promising, and it would appear that H&H is the runaway favourite. So, then I'll get onto them and see what I can work out. Then I'll confirm what payment is required, when and how...

As for the date, it's probably best if I just set one provisionally... So... let's go with the 30th October.

Only just seen this thread. Sounds like a great idea. Bisley is only a few miles from me but I've never shot at H&H so it will be a good experience.

?88 for 100 ESP . I'll still be there. 30th is in the diary.

As with Rhiannon I presume we can bring our own bang sticks. Entirely understand if it is felt unfair. Happy to shoot Full/Full if that helps level the playing field - NOT!!!

The ?88 isn't too bad, it does include cartridges and instruction. I'll be trying to avail myself of a few handy pointers (had a good round this morning, but still a bit rusty after a while away). Especially not too bad after I saw that West London charge best part of ?50 for a round (just clays) or well over ?100 for the equivalent of what H&H/Bisley have offered.

No problems with bringing along your own gun, I shall be bringing mine along (logistics willing). Not sure what it will be yet as I'm looking for a new one. If you don't mind me asking, what is your weapon of choice for clay busting?

Same as everyone else these days - Beretta Silver Pigeon 30" M/C.

In reality mine is the 686 game variant but as long as the barrells are straight and it fits well then a shotgun is pretty much a shotgun. The mad money comes from engraving, wood, more hand made parts and a bit more care putting it together.

I've just got an AYA Yeoman SxS at the moment. As such I currently borrow my dad's Browning 325 (28" M/C) for clay shooting.

I know plenty of people who shoot side by side for clays but you are right it is much easier with a O/U.

The Italian/American thing it entirely personal choice. If you are happy with the Browning then stick with the make or look at Miroku. If you can wait your welome to try my Italian at the Herf. Of course H&H will let you try an English gun as well and happily build you one to your specs but it might be more sensible to pay off the mortgage!

Either way enjoy your new gun hunt.

Mine's a Winchester Classic Doubles. Not fancy but does the job - or should I say 'would do the job if the person using it knew what they were doing!'

I also have a 'Classic Doubles' model 90 (Great gun IMO although not many around) which is my rough shoot gun and a Beretta 682 Gold E although I always seem to shoot better with the Classic Doubles, think a gun fit may be overdue on the Beretta.

Also a Benelli M2 9+1 shot semi auto but would not dream of turning up on a clay line with that one.........

Pratical T, although only just started both Shot and Slug, I have been doing Practical light Rifle (Ruger 10/22) for a few years as well and .357 Underlever competitions (Marlin).

                        As well as the clays..........

Looks like from your header you have an interest as well, could this lead to a Annual Firearms Herf I wonder.

Although Smoking is banned at our range even with all the fog from the Black Powder shooters.

                        Regards

Smoking is verboten on the ranges at Bisley also, but not everywhere. I shoot all manner of courses. Have access to section 5 stuff on occasion so fully auto is a hoot, especially when you are not paying the bills. Used to have a Franchi SPAS 12 (I purchased it with some of my post pistol ban compensation money) and got into practical but those people need therapy. Shoot lots of old service rifle, lever action (.45 long colt, .30-30, 45-70) and black powder revolver. A cigar with the black powder is potentially a brave step but a must do. Clay shoot also but that's during the week.

                            Found the thread! Woo.

                            Count me in dates willing.

Anyone thought about using Bisley for accomodation too? Means no need to drive anywhere.

One of my shooting friends would like to join us for this, if that is okay, please.
