Virtual Herf

Hi guys, hope this doesn't bend or break any rules here, but as physical herfs are not easy to organise I wonder if anyone would be interested in a virtual herf room? I have recently become a little acquainted with Discord & while before it was a bit of a mystery to me before, it seems a really good option to have group calls (voice or video, or combined).

I believe it is by invite only, so have set up a basic chat room called The Herfing Hut, and have a voice channel there where I think you can hop in or out at any time you feel like it. Pinched the idea from Creekside Cigar Co

The only rule issue I can see is that it will be limited to people with DMs to share email addresses etc. There has been virtual herfs before on here.

Does anyone have a Discord account that could check if this link works? I've jumped into the Creekside one a couple of times and it seems to work really well. I think it would be a pretty good option for the odd occasion you fire up a stick you could just go look to see if anyone else is there.

Let's you set events too, so could possibly have pre-arranged times for herfs that people can register their interest if available

Yes, we did. Went well as I remember. Sounds like a good idea for the dark winter days. We just threw an invitaion out on here and agreed a date/time.
(I think I tried to get a 'standing' herf together too where we had a set time on a regular day when whoever wanted to could turn up. I think I was the only one there - but I didn't take it personally! )

A herf in person is (I imagine) always the preferred method. Just figured this would be a decent substitute.

Would there be a preference on morning/afternoon or evening? I have some free time on Sunday mornings usually, but completely open to suggestions
