Ah! the Rock is nice sitting on the Wisteria terrace with a fine cigar and waiter service looking across the botanical gardens out to sea and just 10 mins walk away from one of Europes finest stockists of the best Habanos. Youd be madder than mad Mike not to go.

I have no idea if I can make this, nor how to get there from Marseille yet, but I would love to meet up with some of you guys, so count me as a maybe for now.

EDIT: looks like I would have to fly up to London and then take a flight to GIB, bah how silly.

How about a flight to Malaga or Seville and then hire a car? Might be a another option from where you are...

Flights to Malaga may well be a cheaper option but there will also be cheaper options direct as Easyjet have not released their prices for autumn service yet. I reckon with Easyjet from Gatwick Friday to Sunday will be much closer to the ?250 mark, maybe even lower

I was only suggesting Malaga as an option to Daize as he's not got access to direct GIB flights from London. For us chaps from the UK, there's plenty of choice... EZY out of LGW, BA out of LHR and Monarch out of Luton & Manchester... and I'd whole-heartedly recommend the latter choices as I work for them!

I have people I wanna see in London , so I'll prolly just go the Marseille-London-Gib route anyways.

It can be done... but it's nothing to write home about at just 20% off the fare... all the bloody add-ons, bags, tax etc have to be at full price! Would be worth sorting out if there was a big enough group of people...

I have been to GIB too many times to count... only wish I'd been interested in Cigars back then!

Even though Im still a new guy around here, any excuse for a trip away, and to combine with a good amount of smoking, I would definitely be up for this!

Is there any chance of just a little bit more information regarding a sort of itinerary for whilst we are there, so I could plan the trip with as much advance as possible.

Who went last time? How much fun was had by all?

Last time we had around 60 guests from UK, Gibraltar and Spain and we held the dinner on the FRiday night, leaving the restaurant around 12 and heading back to The Rock Hotel for more drinks and cigars on the terrace until around 3am. Saturday we all met at Stagnettos cigar shop and smoked a lot more and then retired to the hotel lounge for cigars and lunch. In the evening we trolled off to another restaurant for dinner and more smokes.

From this site we had myself, Deano and Gary and Mitch brought a posse along with him as well and it was a real blast of a weekend and we fully intedn to try even harder this year.

Well this does sound pretty fantastic! Would love to go, as Ive never been to Gibraltar either, so would be great to go an visit also. I will keep a close eye on this, so I know when to get my stuff booked, and where to stay. I think Ill be able to twist anothers arm into coming also!

Sounds like a great time would be had.

Gibraltar is really a haven for cigar smokers as there are very few places where you cannot smoke. Of course the prices are a real draw as well for good cigars and spirits...I picked up a bottle of Auchentoshan single malt for my brother and only paid ?10.50.

                                Update news so far guys:

The venue is now likely to be a Large marquee set up at The Rock Hotel with seating for 200 as many of the Spanish guys will want to attend as well. Loren at Staggies has a meeting next Tuesday with the management at The Rock and furhter detials will follow along with some flight and hotel deals that the Rock will be able to offer as well. Those of you who stayed with us at The Rock last time will know what a great place it is to stay and it is cigar friendly as well. The dinner will likely have a ticket price that will include all food, drinks and cigars so time for a really good evening and a rare chance to smoke before, during and after your meal with many like minded souls.
