  • Hello from Bournemouth!

Had my first cigar yesterday, a cheap one from the local off licence and I think I've fallen in love.

Can't wait to smoke some more! (Never been a smoker in my life) and meet all the fine gentlemen, and ladies, on here.

Welcome! Which one was it you smoked.

Welcome to the obsession Jordan, nice to see you starting out with an avatar too. Now get yourself a good cigar and put that cheap start behind you. It was worth it if it worked as an introduction to this fine pastime. I didn't start smoking till last year at the grand old age of 55.

Welcome, these guys will teach you a hell of a lot.

Peejay- you have only been smoking a year? I thought you were a veteran with this hobby.

Hobby? What hobby? My wife will tell you its an obsession. Smoking cigars may not be addictive but everything else connected with it is. She says it's my midlife crisis. Better than a sports car and an earring I told her

Would that have been a big diamond stud or the massive holes I see on a daily basis around Camden?

The paraphernalia is addictive you're right, having had only cheapy cutters I (what I considered) splashed out on one of those Palio cutters after what I can only describe as intently staring at them on my computer for weeks!

You lasted weeks? That's amazing. It would have been a gold hoop.

You strike me as a hoop kinda guy!

Yeah weeks, it was that moment of should I shouldn't I kinda thing...in the end I was sick of my cutters pinching and squashing my cigars.

The Palio's are nice, real clean cut and the lifetime warranty was what sold it to me....I really like the Xikar Xi but I think that was one step too far on my wallet.

I was exactly the same, would probably have bought the Xikar but I wasn't willing to spend another ?20 to get it.

Precisely, I couldn't justify the extra. But if the offer that has been posted on here was a few weeks earlier I may have done if there was a free second product. Gutted.

Welcome onboard Jordan! We had a Spainard join from Bournemouth but then never heard again, perhaps he went home? Anyway what you need is a BOLT (brother of the leaf) to meet up with one afternoon & share the smoking experience. As it happens I'll be in Bournemouth Fri 1st Aug, could meet up at the Slug &Lettuce in the center, if you get the drinks in, I'll provide a selection of starter smokes from the Boli cave
