  • Newbie From Middlesbrough- It all started in Amsterdam!

    Hi all..

New to the forum and cigars. I am an ex smoker (cigarettes) and now vape but something in my mind kept saying try a cigar so when i took a trip to Amsterdam a couple of months back i wanted to get myself some decent cigars. I trawled google before i left and ended up going to Cigaragua. I was met by a brilliant guy who took me round the humidor explaining the cigars and putting a little 'sampler' together for me. I left with about 15 cigars and that night i tried my first. A rosalanos reserva. That was it! I was straight onto Cgars to buy myself a little desk top humi. I spent the rest of my trip trying to scout out good shops and while i was in brugees i found Jerrys cigar bar. I spent a few afternoons sat in the square outside jerry enjoying a smoke and a beer or three..absolutely brilliant.

So my little humi i packed to the rafters and i keep finding cigars i want to try! this must be a common theme is it?!..I think i need to invest in a bigger one

p.s..i could be onto a winner as my fiance loves the smell of a cigar and when its nice and sunny and we are in the garden she says why don't you have a smoke with that beer..happy days!! ..that or she might be trying to kill me off...

What a way to go, though

Welcome to the forum, great to have you with us! Already sounds like you're well on your way to getting the financial fatal buying syndrome that many of us suffer from haha! Proof of this can be found in the 'New in the Humidor' thread...

Look forward to reading how you get on with your other smokes, any standing out that you're itching to try?

Thanks for the welcome. I was reading that thread yesterday while i was enjoying an oliva serie g, some amazing collections on here, absolutely stunning.

in terms of trying. everything and anything at the moment. I have been mainly smoking the darker (maduro?) wrapped cigars so want to try something lighter (Connecticut?) yes a Nub Connecticut is definately one i want to get in my stash, other than that the new drew estates sweet jane could be different. I have a drew estates flying pig from Cigaragua im dying to try but want to wait for something special. I have a baby on the way in approx 9 weeks so i think that could be a winner!!

Tic Toc's in Dundas Arcade has a lovely little selection at the back of the shop.

I'm Normanby. We will have to arrange a HERF some time.
Maybe even get the Yorkshire lads to arrange one in York and jump onto that.
