  • Greetings ๐Ÿ‘‹

Good afternoon ladies and gents,my name is Dave,i have been smoking cigars since i was 18 and i am now 33,so 15 years. This may sound like a lot to some of you,to some others,i have no doubt that you have been smoking cigars longer than i have been alive...joke...,and i tend to smoke approx 60% NCs and 40% CCs,i tend to buy most of my cigars abroad in bulk when i am travelling...for obvious reasons, with Amsterdam being a particular frequent destination of mine,it's where i had my first Cuban Cigar. I also confess to being a bit of a lurker,i have been browsing posts on this forum ocassionaly for a few years and thought it was about time i joined in.

I AM TRAPPED IN A PARENTHESIS BLACK HOLE!!!!!

    *Clear throat*

Syntax aside - welcome to the forum, Dave! Great to have you coming out of those bushes, perhaps i will be able to get some sleep at night now the endless rustling will cease... Great to hear you have a mixed pallet for NC/CC, always interesting having more thoughts into the mix!

Come on then - top three smokes you've had this year are...?
Only the impossible is worth the effort.

Ha Ha Ha...and i thought i was being quiet, yes i know it will be sacrilege to some that i smoke so many NCs but its all purely subjective of course, one mans potion is another mans poison. My top 3 cigars this year...hmmm thats a tricky one narrowing it down to just 3

1,Alec Bradley Prensado Churchill(my favourite cigar)Smoked while reflecting on my trip to the Giza pyramids back at my hotel in Hurghada with a good glass of Remy Martin 1738.

2,Montecristo No 2 from 06 these have been in the bottom of my 100 count for years i bought a 25 box and have only smoked 5 or 6 of them in that time,but...man its been worth the wait

3,HUHC...a surprising choice for many im sure, but these give me so much pleasure in such a short period of time, and i always feel much happier when i have had those 30 minutes of me time, especially during a hectic day or with the "lovely" weather we have in the winter...those 30 minutes added up across the year means this little beauty has to be on my list.

I must admit Dave the Alec Bradley marque is always one where I have a few various sticks in the humidor - the Prensado Chrurchill is an excellent smoke! I have some Fine & Rare ageing nicely too, one of which I plan to smoke on Christmas Day

Very impressed by your patience and discipline with your box of Montys. I'd have destroyed those long ago.

Ha Ha it's tempting i know,i remember when i fist started smoking cigars,my first Cuban was an H Upmann corona minor from PGC Hajenius in Amsterdam,i remember sitting there enjoying my smoke watching a couple of older guys immersed in conversation speaking Dutch...so i couldn't have joined in if id wanted to.Suddenly one of them lights up the biggest cigar i had ever seen in my life,a Montecristo no2,i remember thinking to myself,i could never smoke one of those it would either kill me or i would run out of patience with it. Here i am 15 years later (and several boxes of Monte 2s later)looking back and having a little chuckle to myself.
