Hi all, I’m Michel, based in London. On the recommendation of a few fellow members, I’m introducing myself here. I run Fine Cigars Club as a side project, mainly events, rare cigar trading, and a very small bit of retail, all really just a way to share the love of cigars. My main job is in finance in London, and most of the cigar events I’m involved with are also in London.
I’ve also travelled quite a bit through cigar countries like Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba, learning more about the seed-to-box process and meeting the makers along the way which is a fantastic experience.
My cigar journey started with lighter Cuban cigars like Quai d’Orsay and H. Upmann, before gradually moving into stronger blends. From there, I explored the New World side of cigars, which really opened up my palate and gave me a much broader appreciation for different tobaccos and styles. I enjoy a regular rotation of cigars and like to keep things interesting by trying new sticks and learning the stories behind how they came to be.
I’m also a wine enthusiast and have travelled extensively through France and Italy including quite a few vineyards along the way.
Looking forward to being part of the forum.
