New to Cigars

I am new to the cigar scene, fresh back from Cuba 10 days ago and smoked some beauties. Hence my new hobbie.

Any thoughts or advice.

Well Lee, that makes a refreshing change from Cohiba Esplendosis & bet they aren't faked either. Anyone running short of Guantanamera?
I couldn't believe how many boxes of those I saw in Cuba, they are everywhere. Guess they can't sell them in Europe so they are stuck with them at home.

I'm ok for Guantanamera. My younger brother bought himself a box of 10 on his way back from France due to him being very bad at explaining he only wanted 1 in French. He kindly offered me one as he knew i was very interested in trying my first cigar, i got as far as smelling it.

Well done Pleevy, smoking one of those & thinking it represents a real Havana could have put you off for life! These were a tremendous own goal for the Cuban cigar industry, must have done far more damage to their reputation than foriegn currency earnt. They should just take them all back & chop them up for ciggies.

What should probably have been pointed out earlier is that it is generally expected that your minimum number of posts before trading status is given should comprise of something more than "Welcome, I'm new here too!" (or words to that effect) copied and pasted into every Newbie Intro thread from the last six weeks.

There is a rule that you are not allowed to post any feeds trying to sell any cigars until you have reached at least 50 posts. This chap joined and instantly made a thread stating that he had just come back from Cuba and had some Romeo y Julieta No.3 and some lovely Guantanamera for sale. After being told he couldn't sell before having 50 posts, he thought he would be smart about it and spam every new person for the last couple of months with a simple "Im new too!!! Welcome".

Thanks for the heads up, the rules in the new members area states 25 posts is that not correct. Please help
