  • A hearty hello.

Just joined the forum and wanted to say hello from West Sussex.

I started smoking cigars about a year and a half ago, tended to spend time on USA forums as I like a lot of the non Cuban varieties.

    Anyhoo, see you around.

        Hello and welcome Bad Yeti.

I'd be interested to hear your views on NC smokes, apart from Fuente, Rocky Patel, Padron & Cain I have yet to delve seriously into the NC scene.

*Oh heck, did I just admit to liking NC's ... go easy on me all*

                            Thanks all, much appreciated.

In response Dave, I believe that there are a very small number of people in this world who can appreciate all the subtle nuances of a cigar, the fellows who taste, Chocolate, Raisins, subtle tones of combine harvester etc, though I have to admit that I did just the other day sense a dark chocolate bitterness which was nice.

My point is that I don't go along with the whole "Cubans are better" train of thought. Smoking and the taste is very subjective and down to personal preferences, in my travels I have smoked many cigars, some wonderful, some dreadful, and no single country has the monopoly on either.

For the non Cubans I enjoy the most:

Oliva Serie V Torps or the Lancero for a quick smoke.
La Estrella Cubana E Toro's are a good solid daily smoke.
San Cristobal Clasico Robusto's are a nice choice.
                            La Aroma de Cuba Belicoso
El Rey Del Mundo Special Edition Nat Sherman are just awesome
Man O' War's are pretty slick.
                            Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur.
Padron Anniversario maduros are just the nuts (Actually all Pardons are pretty good)

Like I said though, it all depends upon the person

*me sits back and waits for the backlash
