What is goo practice for laying down sticks, is there a set time period that means they are aged?

Well first of all, don't let them get gooey!

No set practise really, though a lot would say Cohiba?s want 5 years down but they?ll be great way past that. Looking at your bands they should be good to go now but where possible try spreading them over the next 5 years if you?ve got the patience and see how they develop

            Ok great! [emoji1417]
I?m currently rotating them in the draws once a week, I?m waiting fir the Dunhill Humi to season now, I?ll lay them down in that.
I?m using a bowl of humidor water rather than tap you?ll be pleased to know [emoji1787]
A question on that: I loaded the original Dunhill with new oasis and it?s wet and in the Humi too. I?m leaving them in there for week before adding sticks but how often and when do you top up the solution?
Or once it?s seasoned shall I just stick with the Boveda?

No need to rotate them really where possible try to avoid the urge to constantly look at them, I know it?s difficult!

When you say humidor water id just get de-ionised water so it?s sterile. But as you?ve learned tap water is a no go

Just stuck with the boveda they?re much easier to manage and minimise thinking too much. I?d pick up a couple of hygrometers though and calibrate them so you know fairly accurately what the RH is

Lovely, I thought it was good practice to rotate once a week but I?ll stop if it?s not [emoji1417]
                I bought this solution

But as you say, I have plenty of large boveda packs, perhaps I?ll rehydrate them with this solution instead once they are spent. [emoji4]

I buy 5L of distilled water for like 4? and it lasts couple of years at least.

You'll see how long the boveda or humidity holds at a time once you're up and running.

You'll have to find a routine to recharge boveda. I've got Some large packs that last a year before needing recharge.

It's all a faff. So I moved everything into one unit. Next step might have to be active humidity. Which I might build myself... [emoji848]

And I never rotate. Just check boxes now and again. I'm working through singles this year exclusively. Collected far too many.
                  .--
I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

Indeed, excellent selection, properly filled, should hold humidity well.

Ha, I'd suggest there's nothing quite like a Sig VI, however, Behike 52's are cracking but unavailable in the retailers (&Cuba), the Esplendosis was the original bid beat from Cohiba &similar price to Sig VI. Have you tried the Lanceros or the Piramides extra, both excellent smokes. All Cohiba's are best if allowed to age at least 3-5yrs. Difficult if your just buying from retailers of course but buy with a yr &keep a few singles from birthday's & anniversaries ect.

Lot's of great tips there, hopefully not too much to take in all at once. Search aging cigars on here & you'll find more tips. Don't get to hung up about aging at the begining. It's nice to have a few for special occasions but big you can smoke them with a year from the box code, they are decent even these days.

                            Newbie noob.

Loads of great info and help, thanks again. I?ve only ever smoked Cohiba robusto before which were lovely. There is a lone Cohiba that was in with the Sig, it?s longer and thinner, not sure what it is but will work it out later today, let you know.

I think I?ll keep the Sig VI for special for sure but I?m going to start acquiring what ever I can and check in for help and advise and feedback! Have never smoked any NC?s before either so must see what that?s all about. In fact these arrived in the post today-seem to have a few decent reviews on Cgarsltd.

The silver selection aren't bad but they are what would be a budget stick if it weren't for the taxes.
