yes the ssd is causing the pc not to boot. But if its data corruption it could have been caused by faulty ram or faulty psu. If the ssd is broke then yes totally the ssd at fault. Unfortunately it cant be tested without formatting the drive and testing it with a read write pattern or with diagnostic equipment.

Dang! I guess I'll slap it all back together and take it to my local IT shop. You made a gallant effort, Mr. Mo, but you can't fix what can't be fix.

Hey man, you put up a good fight and it was an honor to fight along side of you, senor Mo!

BTW, I purchased the Samsung SSD 840 series in February 2013, so I may be able to replace it under warranty, after the local IT techs have a look.

Today, you are an honnorary Coro, Mo Coro!

          • Thanks TJ I always wanted to be a coro. As I say it could just be corruption so may not need a replacement.

Gentleman, though we may have lost this battle, the fight continues. And one day WE WILL defeat the dastardly, destructive SSD! Mark my words....we WILL prevail.

                            • Power outs, irregular power fluctuations and power surges have apparently accounted for a few SSD deaths.. It's why I asked about power outs before.

I have a feeling that Regulated Uninterruptible Power Supplies will start to increase in popularity.
