Right! My DIY soldering crapped out last week. So I got my mate from work who has a decent soldering iron and solder to fix up my cakhanded effort. So hopefully my internet hygrometer will be back in action later tonight!
The bottom of the collage was my effort, the top and the side view on its own are Martin's. He made a video for me to follow.
But basically he came in this morning and said throw my old solder away and get a fine nib for my iron!
So we will resume normal programming later [emoji16]

I've now added the other pi with 2 sensors to the mix. For now keeping things simple and separate just to get the readings. Copied all the code over to the other Pi. Adjusted the code for the new sensors. And updated the board to track. So the board now looks like this (see below.)
I can now compare the different types of sensor. Sensors 4 and 22 are at the rear and front of the cabinette on the low shelf. Sensor Z (the original) is at the top of the cabinette. And the graph over time will show all 3 RH measurements together!
Readings are gathered every 3 mins and the line charts will build over time if you leave your browser open http://goo.gl/g1wKxp

I'm getting the same readings as the other one on average. But the readings can be more erratic so have to ignore the outliers.
I did get 5 sensors for the same price as the previous one ?12

TBH I borrowed this kit from my BIL. Is a Dremmel butane kit. The tip doesn't melt the solder even at full power. Had to work half way up the tip. Soldering can be a bitch. You might want to try silver solder it can make it easier to get the melt started. Think solder was easier to use years ago but what?s in it has changed for the worst.

Ok! Finally managed to clean things up enough to work! That was the most frustrating thing in a long time. But no sellotape [emoji3]
I now understand why they call it hardware. It's hard to work with!
Workmanship is a bit shoddy but didn't burn anything. So all good.
I've included a couple of shots of the snow globe solders along the way.

Ok this is now beyond frustrating. About a half an hour of trying to solder. This is all I have. It looks so easy on the YT videos! Liars!
All IVe managed is a couple of blobs that will NOT go where they are told!!!!!!!!!!!!!
