Words with Friends keeps me sane, like Scrabble but you can play net games with random opponents or with people you know.

There is a free version (has ads) to see if you like it.

    Go on gis a game!

        - Star Walk for astronomy geeks (point iphone at the sky and it will show you which stars / planets are there in AR)

        - VTT Lite for some free and annoyingly addictive ping pong

        - Concert Vault: absolutely brilliant. You need to create a free account with them but you can then search and stream live concert recordings from the 1960s-now.

        - Atomic Browser (for some...ahem...private browsing)

trainyard ex, it is free and is a very clever routing game, very easy as first then gets very challenging. A real logic brain teaser.

I've owned smartphones, PPC's, PDA's and BlackBerrys but the iPhone is the best yet. When TomTom is released next month it will get even better.

What apps are you using/rating? For me its...

Games - Crazy Choppers, Ragdoll Blaster, Paper Toss and Flight Control
Utilities - Timetable (for work), Accuweather (for fishing weather), Google Earth
Random- Sky Sports Score Centre, BBC and Sky News Readers

I'm looking for a good MS Word/Excel app (for viewing files only), anyone use one?
