  • Image problem

I have been unable to upload my two latest pictures onto the forum from my Mac because I get this error message 'Image upload failed because the extension of this file did not match the content'. Any ideas? The Mac is also telling me that I don't have permission to save the image on my own damned computer. Any ideas? Photos both taken on iPhone after IOS 14 download. I've now discovered that it appears to affect photos that have been edited in phone.

Presumably it's saving it as one extension despite it being of a different format? E.g. being saved as a .jpg but it's actually a .png.

Seen on another site that potentially it's saved as a .jpeg and should be .jpg

That makes sense Dean, I'll try changing it.

.jpeg is the official file extension! It should be .jpeg. .jpg is the 'Windows'ism because it only supports 3 character file extensions!

The file format itself is still JPEG!

So I blame Windows and Apple for making a mess of this.

Curious if this works for you though PJ...
