I would say that the number of comments posted regarding to poor quality of CC's way outweigh the number of negative comments about NC's. There is nothing wrong with people expressing an opionion that they do not like NC's (like me), that is just an opinion and it is as valid as someone saying they do. I absolutely agree that personal attacks that are not clearly a joke (smilies people ) can be misconstrued and should always be clarified or posted carefully.

I say again that I believe your original comment may be influenced by past history (and we are not reliving all of that ) and not relevant today. Indeed I find myself in the minority these days on UKCF of not really being a fan of any NC's. Being a fan of pretty much exclusively CC's I find a lot of UKCF content irrelevant to me these days.

i think a lot of the "negative" comments are a lot to do with the price of N/C for example if we take a forum favourite a boli gold medal @13.99 or a party SD no.4 @ ?13.49 i think it is very hard to find a N/C as good as these for the same price
    i love the padron 1926 no9 but @?29 a stick really?

I smoke both and like both for their differences so there Seriously though Ive learnt that its about variety and the more there is to have it makes life less boring. I smoke NC during the week and the CC's on the weekend as I said I enjoy them both and always will.

I definitely think way back there was the odd negatory comment, and I can see why considering some of the crap I've smoked, but there's definitely some decent ones out there, and this is definitely the place to advertise them! I'm definitely behind backing the NC scene, maybe a few box splits would work out well when we find a few that are likeable.

Current faves include the Oliva V series and the Alec Bradly Prensado range.

And that is fine, on the whole I prefer Cubans but there are some great N.C out there! Just ever so occasionally people are a little dismissive of N.Cs in general rather than particular smokes.....
And this can be misleading to a newbie (which I still consider myself to be) or even sometimes make this place seem elitist which would be a horrible message to give as it really isn?t at all!

No, I was really just paraphrasing this comment:

    “Me...? I 'love' NC's...
The fact that there are people who are prepared to smoke 'em... well... it means more Cubans for the rest of us, and helps keep the price of 'Habanos' from sky-rocketing.”

It could be taken to mean that there is an 'in group' of people who know better than to smoke NCs and an 'out group' of plebs who are prepared to smoke them.

Yeah, I hear you muchacho and you make a fair point. But as me pappy, Pappy Corro used to say, "If you're man enough to smoke a fine puro or cigar, than you oughta' be man enough to stand up for yourself."

Of course, he said it in espanol, so it might loose a little something in translation.
