  • Rivalries are rivalries, and that isn't a bad thing as long as relations remains reasonably cordial and non abusive.

I've read the suggestions, personally I've no objection to their adoption, although to be perfectly frank, and I don't mean this disrespectfully, I regard most of them as the sort of things that might be dreamt up by the PR department of a Local Council, strong on touchy-feely political correctness but in reality just fudge, because fudge is the alternative to nothing.

Has it occurred to anyone that there might not be anything wrong with UKCF. The Forum has Rules, OK they are not the Rules that were in place when I joined in 2008, but no one forces anyone to click the Accept button.

If there is anything weak with UKCF at the moment it's topics. Which isn't surprising. UKCF is four years old, and in that time we've reviewed or discussed just about every aspect of Cuban cigars possible and so the gap between interesting new topics now tends to correspond with new releases. I don't post much in the non-cigar sections. I know little about whisky, the books I read and the music I listen to aren't anything to recommend, but I do read the posts, and so do members and possibly hundreds of guests, so not bad at all. On the plus side, an open Forum will attract a constant stream of newbees, and although answering their questions might mean me doing it for the hundredth time it does mean I've something to post.

Once upon a time we were allowed to mention overseas cigar merchants. The good and reliable, the new or unfamiliar and the downright shysters. It was fun and generated loads of posts, but unfortunately on an open Forum was running a little bit too close to the wind. Today the UKCF is what it can be, so if everyone joins in where they can, posts where they can, that is enough and everyone can be proud of it.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

E.g. The previous pm problem thread and three old regulars coming back and mentioning 'tampons' et al.

E.g. The chap above who hasn't posted in 11.5 months saying 'come home' lol.

The majority of arguments that are presented to us are hypocritical and/or only serve to enforce your own arguments. An example being the quote above, where we refrain from spamming or trolling 'the peoples' forum, but you continue to do the same to this one.

It's becoming clear from yourself and puff that even you two, who have never been banned, aren't even willing to discuss these issues with an open conciliatory mind, so god knows what the others would do. Unfortunately you, puff and 'rich' are encouraging me to leave things as they are and simply let this forum die to the benefit of no one but a closed group who think they're in some exclusive club!
I posted with the "sarcasm" that you feel it is ok for your mods to use!

Yes you are right I have not posted on here for a while but I have been and browsed around and often seen over active mods exercising too much muscle shouting down chaps who only have a couple of posts under their belt! This has not made it feel like a very friendly place to me!
5 miles, that wasn't a run that was deportation!

                        Did Hell freeze over?
It did? Well then...I may have to reevaluate my virtual opinion of senor triplexxx.
