Umm, may I suggest pithy posts that are more than two sentences. One word posts should be a deduction from "post counts" in my opinion....but that's just me.

I may be being naive here, but how can you use this forum only to get cigars (other than the sponsors)?

I visit this forum every day and read with interest. But I don't post often. I suppose I don't want to just post for the sake of saying something or unless I can contribute something worthwhile.

I would like to be able to pm one or two people and ask "personal" questions that they probably wouldn't want to reply to on a public forum.

Unless there are people here who sell cigars that I am totally unaware of. But how would they be any cheaper, unless they were sending from Switzerland etc??? But most users seem to be in the UK.

That's easy, chico.... just participate in the UKCF only when others are selling, splitting, or trading cigars or conversely, participate only when you have something to sell. That's what E-bay is for, not this forum.

As far as I know, the primary purpose of the UKCF is to share information and swap stories and antidotes with other like-minded people, not to sell or trade cigars. But that's just me!

Well, that's the downside of no or low participation. As you probably figured out by now, PM activity is a privilege, not a right of membership. And without going into the history of the process, let's just say that currently, achieving PM status requires, among other things, regular and substantive participation, but the ultimate decision is left up the the UKCF owner.
