We introduced the 100 post/6 month rule because newbies were coming on here, contributing very little and treating the place like eBay. It's worked well in weeding out any hassle.
I get your poibt about increasing the forum membership but we've always been a smallish place and everybody seems to get on well and we kind of know each other too.
I know the Sale Section must seem like El Dorado but there's not a lot going on in there at the moment

Thanks for the context man. It helps me to understand that there’s some purpose behind it other than just an old rule that’s remained and is a bit of a zombie “just because”

Makes sense I guess. To be honest I’m not really hanging my hat on the sale forums, but COTM really appeals to me so I’m looking forward to serving my time and getting in on the lucky packet!

I’m still fairly new here, but would like to understand the rationale around the 3 months + 100 post hurdle.

Is there a specific reason for this, ie were you getting lots of trolls on the forum?

The reason I’m asking is to understand if you wouldn’t perhaps have more activity around the forum if people could engage in trading sticks/COTM etc a lot earlier
