( Psst! Pipe down mi amigo, senor tripleXXX. You"ll create a run on RC tubos!)

Ahem! Right then....the official Coro position is "why pay more for a tube when you can get the same puro for less without the tube."

    HEY! LOOK OVER THERE
    !
I think I saw someone on this fine forum offering the latest Cohiba Limited Edition! Let's all go look at that!

    Perro, el Perro

HaHa! Your are incredulous, el P!

(Hurumph!) Indeed! And you are still A BOOB!

He Ray Jay...were the HELL are we?

Because they are possibly not as unpopular as you think. But, it is about marketing in a way, because someone somewhere in Cuban cigar history decided that certain cigars would benefit by being tubed, and in the cases of some vitola they were confident enough to have both untubed and tubed versions.

I don't mind the Boli RC and it is a good example, even when young, of where a tube version IS MHO far superior.

We all dream of being more interesting.
But then again, who knows. I'll go home and untube some RYJ tubos and lay them accross.

Maybe they used to do that but no longer. Maybe it started out with fonesca's tin marketing sand then mismatched colours, then this.

I doubt those even come in 3ers anymore

I still think Jeremy's mate who spoke to a factory manager sounds plausible though... Uglier, toothy cigars get put to one side. Can't see why his mate would be wrong.
Of course, uglier doesn't mean worse. It's a plant for Christ's sake! Not like you can whip it into submission to producing the same colour
And uglier doesn't mean bad tasting either. Just like a poop shaped Cuaba

Because even if it was remotely true .... it would have been sussed half a century ago .... and nobody would buy them.

aye. indeed. just checked and my monte 1s don't fit in my monte tubes.....
that's actually pretty strange but ah well.
