I dont know whats its called, even if there is a name for it. My favourite cut right now is the cross cut, basically a double hit with the V cutter, I dont like using a straight cut especially on larger ring gauges, using a punch/vcut just makes the cigar feel a littler smaller in the mouth.

I was gifted a brass(?) punch from a kind member on here 12 months or so ago. Tried it but didn't get on with it very well so passed it forward. Use a double bladed cutter now. Simple to use. As someone else said, place cigar into middle of cutter and it rests against the bed, swift snack of the blades and it cuts perfectly.
Perhaps I need to try a better punch to see if it's better than the previous version.

Not unless your cutting too deep. I'll get a picture, I find its a good cut for cigars 48+ring gauge..... just about everything coming out of cuba right now basicallyOriginally posted by Mark3142 View PostI'd be very concerned about the cap falling off or what is left of it. Surely a cross cut would remove over 75%?

I have a Palio, and have never gotten a bad cut from it.Originally posted by Budgie Smuggler View PostIf you want a Palio, make me an offer for mine or I'll trade for smokes, I'm not a fan.
As far as cutters go, I think there is a huge variance in how people use them, so no single cutter is going to be right for everyone, no matter how good the quality. You need a cutter that matches your cutting technique.
