Cigar Cutters, Part II

Gentlemen (and ladies),

Back in February, the Lion of the Forum, Senor Robusto, started a thread on cigar cutters (click here) It was through this thread that I discoverd the inexpensive Cuban Crafter Guillotine Cutter.

Today, I use this cutter more than any other puro-pokin' device, even my trusty ol' punch, which I am addicted to.

Now if memory serves me well, several other posters to that thread purchased the CC cutter as well. So after several months of use, how is it working for you?

For my $$$$, it is one of the best value cutters around

I have yet to try this cutter though I have seen many like it and it's a good concept. I stick to my trusty Xikar xi3 carbon fibre. Does the job- lifetime warranty. :-D

Yeah....the Xikbar xi3 is a great cutter! No doubt about it, lil' Jimmy. I have one in my collection and still use if from time to time.

But I gotta' tell ya' mate, for only $12, the CC Cutter is a real beauty, with a nice solid and hefty feel to it. A solid performer, IMO, and pound for pound, the value around.

TJ, how sharp is this one? I'm thinking about getting a Xikar after a mate let me used his, it was amazing to say the least. If this is comparable for half the price, I don't see why I wouldn't buy it. Tell me what you think. Thanks

Well, senor reigndrip, my Xikar was about $30 and I think the CC cutter is comparable, in terms of sharpness, and easier to use. Feels good in the hand.

The Xikar is a bit cooler looking, however. Both have lifetime warranties.

Your choice, mate. But if you go for the Xidar, I suggest you get the more expensive one (around $50 or $60); it works much better and looks better, IMO.

I've had a Xikar cutter and after sending it back numerious times it broke again !
I finally said to myself "Self it ain't worth a shit" so I tossed it in the river !!
I've had a double blade Guillotine cutter for 12 + years and never have had a problem with it!Most if not all are self sharpening!
