Dry box them for a couple of days and they will prolly just slip right off the cigar. Then when your friend gets them slip the bands on and if their humi is working properly they should swell up a bit and snug up to the band! Yeah....I know! Genius! Hahaha

Ask an American - they are expert at getting bands off Havana cigars!

ok as no one else has asked, why do you want to remove them before smoking?

If they move already ie. aren't stuck to the wrapper, then a curved blade slid carefully underneath with the edge facing away from the cigar should do the job. Something like the Stanley hook blades.
Preferably, I'd recommend waiting until you've been smoking it for a while so the glue softens though, as everyone else has recommended.

Lol ..... Can't ANY of you idiots read?
UNLIT .... meaning NOT ignited .... meaning NOT in mouth .... meaning inert, cold stogie with tight band .... HTF do you get it off without fu*@ing up the p*@y cigar?
Bloody 'ell .... Talk about a bunch of Meerkats!

How about trying to remove them from the front of the band (middle section). It is much easier to just bend some of the band up and tear id down the edge than trying to rip it off where it is glued. I have done this several times with much good luck!
