I just swapped my devolo 1200 powerline for their Magic 2 set and the speed has more than doubled over the same electrics. I now get 471 up and 342 down (Mbps) where I was getting 100 ish before with the old set. Wanted the speed as I have an office room upstairs and a NAS downstairs. I know I should have run cat 6e or whatever it is now...

Something like this if you want WiFi in the shed/cabin https://www.broadbandbuyer.com/produ...26-devolo-8619 163£ for 2 points.
This set uses the newest G.hn tech and is not backwards compatible with Homeplug tech (below.)

The older tech if around 100Mbps is sufficient (you might get better speeds) https://www.broadbandbuyer.com/produ...-wpa8631p-kit/ £105 for 2 points.
This uses the Homeplug AV2 tech - should be compatible with older powerline adaptors using the Homeplug standards, but check if you want to mix.

    Ignore the 2400/1200 Mbps claims.....

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

I tried using home plugs in my cabin, but if you have any electrical devices with a large current draw it plays havoc with network speeds. I know I should have installed CAT 5/6 when doing the build. and that is what I would advise anyone building a cabin. I ended up putting in a mesh network and I get much better and consistent connection speeds - more expensive than laying network cable, but hindsight is a beautiful intelligence.

I've used a couple over the years; TP-Link cheapies are good enough imo. Bloody easy way of extending your wifi network too without 'repeaters'.

Yeah I've written before here about a Huwaii b535 coupled with a good antenna - 100mb/s+ compared to my FTTC at 30mb/s!

But this means an additional cost of a sim for the 4g router!!!?

I am sure the Chinese would only be interested in any cigar deals going down in the for sale section on here 😂
