Exactly, but on the other hand he is very accurate with his NC cigars so I try and take a broad view on everyone's reviews.
and I'm studying Chemistry at Nottingham Uni

For instance I watched Bryan Glynn's review on this stick quite a while ago and he liked it but I distinctly remember his view that it was spicy. Now I'm not a lover of spicy cigars but he seemed to like it so I thought I would try it and see if it could change my mind of spicy sticks. So I bought one based on my vague memory of his favourable review and then about 3 weeks later after buying, I smoked it and reviewed it. But the time from watching Bryan's review and reviewing it myself must be at least 3 months.

Basically I use other reviews as a rough guide to know what to buy for myself; e.g. being a student I don't want to go and buy a ?20 stick that I know has consistently poor ratings, so I'll use various ratings just to make sure it's not a terrible cigar and then I'll make my own opinions on it based on what I have smoking in my hand, not based on what I've read. It's a weird one because that's contradictory but at the same time I have a very limited budget so I have to try and select a cigar that I think I will enjoy.

In this case I certainly agreed with Bryan's view that it's a spicy cigar; however I certainly don't agree with his view that a Monte 2 is an awful cigar. I have to take every review with a pinch of salt but at the end of the day the one I review is the one that makes my mind up on that vitola, not someone else's view.

Hope that's cleared things up a bit

Monte 2 an awful cigar, this Bryan fella is obviously a moron, i would recommend ignoring anything he has to say.

I see what your saying about budgets and student life. What you studying by the way? I would say you need to try some cigars without researching them first, you may surprise yourself with what you find.

Enjoy your adventures in cigar land.

Hahaha cheers mate, I try my best I don't try and be like some of these reviewers I've seen on YouTube (particular CA) where they pick out flavours like "toasted Cinnabon" or "graham cracker with an olive oil infused backing" all that nonsense, I just try and review the cigar as I see it, as I taste it and as I see what angle it's coming from and where it's evolution is. I find there's no foolproof method to a review but as long as there's an informative heart to it all I'm happy writing, haha

Glad you also got the spicy notes coming through in your stick PeeJay, shows consistency at least, shame you didn't like the rest of the cigar though. Not every cigar can be to everyone's tastes I suppose, I did find too that it worsened as it went on.
