[QUOTE=Maxi-J;81357]Yeah um, I hate to say it but, the D4? Not too sure I like it.

I agree totally .... and in my case can't put it down to youth.

The sad bit is, because PDS4 are such a Forum favourite I feel as if I should enjoy them. I'll keep trying but must admit they are a struggle!

I find young D4's very hit and miss. when they are good they are great but I don't run to them like I used to. The P2 I find far more consistently good.

Nice review r0lan6. Got a good feel for how it smoked. Sounds like a slightly better example would have been phenomenal, rather than good, but let down at the end.

Thank you mate. I am sure the next few cigars will be better. If they do feel too soft I can always leave it out the humidor for an hour or so before smoking. But yes, a very good smoke!

              hey maxi-j,
i'm very surprised by your review of the psd4, it's my 'go to' robusto cigar (that and the bolivar RC)!!! i've never been let down by it yet!!!! i've had boxes from 07, 08, 09 and all have been great!!!! it is a full bodied smoke and i've been fortunate enough to have acquired sterling examples of them everytime!!!!

see if you can hunt out at least the 08's (older if you can get 'em)!!!! also, recently, i've taken to punching my cigars instead of cutting.........seems to concentrate the flavour (in my opinion)!!! try that on a psd4 and see what it does!!!!

              all the best,

              alex

I just tried my first D4 this afternoon and found it outstanding. It is a more "serious" cigar than the Hoyo but equally "undemanding". Puts a smile on your face .

True that. Now try an 898 for a face-splitting smile.
