Discontinued cuban cigars

It would be simpler not to make a load of different varieties at the same time. Maybe they choose what to make based on what crop is available. I imagine the manufacturers have to tell the distributors in advance what they plan to make and how many they plan to make. I doubt they'd want to commit to making too many different sticks at the same time just in case they couldn't get enough leaves of the preferred type. The special/regional editions may give them more freedom in that regard. It could also be a way of getting rid of excess leaves that wouldn't complete a whole production run of the standard stick.

You made a good point there joe concerning quatities of regional and limited editions cigars the limited edition i realy don't see the point
bit like the bolivar petite belicoso 2009 in my opinion they are awesome but when the last ones in tobacconist's are gone thats it the funs over.

This is a shame to be honest, simple because there are many vitolas I would have loved to try and some I have tried and can't or have to pay a fortune to get hold of

A glowing example is of the bolivar corona extras; I smoked one that Tommy gifted me and it was simply amazing, THE definition of fine cuban craftsmanship Now they are not in production anymore..

I think it is probably as simple as HSA think that the cigars they leave are more profitable

I think both the cigars you mentioned have been discontinued by the way

Does anyone know the reason behind why some cuban cigars get discontinued such as the partagas petite coronas for example
and others such as erdm gran coronas is it to do with they don't sell as well as others.
