Apologies from me. It hadn't occurred that this was the reason you hadn't mentioned any names. I'll know for the future.Originally posted by Deano View PostI'm glad I purposely didn't mention any actual names so that I couldn't be done for slander and then you all go and mention the site by name in each subsequent post. Will now have to edit the entire thread. *sigh*
I'm certainly not speaking for anyone else, but I appreciate the gesture. Some of us on here do use Swiss vendors and people will react to this information in different ways and make their decisions accordingly.Originally posted by Ryan View PostI apologise if I stirred things up a bit with this thread.
The only reason I started it was to give people a heads up.
I don't discuss vendors by name on public forums.
Unless decreed otherwise, I think posts like this are helpful to us all.
Please don't be discouraged from posting similar in the future [unless we are otherwise told
]!

Thank you Sir TJ.
You will be extra happy that it was Larry who started it. BAD Larry.

It's a tough job, but...
I agree with your decision to edit the posts. No sense in spreading unsupported and possibly false rumors on a public forum (where's the beef?). Use of the PM for anyone who wants the name was a smart move. That's why you are the...

Bien dicho, Ryan.Originally posted by Ryan View PostTo answer a few questions..
The link posted above to the other forum is where I saw this too.
It does not necessarily have anything to do with the shop mentioned but possibly the warehouse they use, at least 2 other Swiss online cigar shops use the same one.
Anyway there is no hard evidence yet, just circumstantial and coincidental. By all accounts the shop has very good customer service.
Names of the shops were posted on the other forum until removed by mods over there.
I never said not to use any particular shop, just to keep an eye on your credit card statements.
I would have no qualms about using my card with any particular shop. Credit card fraud happens, it's just one of those things. It will rarely leave you out of money, it's the inconvenience really.
My point was, suddenly, in the last week or two, a number of people who have used their card at a couple of Swiss cigar shops have been hit by fraud. It would be worth keeping an eye on your statements for a while in case it is not picked up.
Shop away!
