Bit of rubbing down and a lick of varnish would look very nice.

it has been rubbed down and waxed Tony, the rough parts are felt I will be putting a little something around these parts to make it look a bit better. I chose wax to finish it as I had never used it before and thought it might look good (it does up close)

That's the prototype done, finished with some clear wax and some felt where it matters to protect any pipes. Now to see if I can reproduce it[emoji15]
