wait another few weeks and there won't be a soul on any beach, same as the outdoor smoking areas in pubs , which get taken over by non smokers in hot weather

I really only smoke at home too, but there are plenty of beaches where I stay with no one to bother you. Mind you we rarely get the best beach weather here anyway

Wait and see it's only a matter of time, no smoking in pub gardens.
    No smoking outside costa's.

Why? They don't want us to smoke.

I feel as a minority group we should adapt the attitude of our French relatives and say bollocks to them and stand up for our own civil rights and liberties , after all I thought we one the war and have freedom of speech and freedom of our actions .

    Smoking Ban

I'm not sure I can imagine a situation so dire that I would need to smoke a cigar on a beach - but the point still stands I suppose. The writing's been on the wall for such puritanical decisions since smoking was banned in Central Park. (It's just as well the stopped filming Friends, Jennifer Aniston is still smoking... Sorry, getting side-tracked there).

It really is a terrible shame that the fun-police are now acting without reason other than because they don't agree with something. I can grin and bear not being able to smoke in a pub, because at least they used some scientific evidence - even if it was a little suspect in some respects. But the fact that they are keen to ban something with no argument about public health... It would be thought policing and little more.

I must admit, I do prefer smoking indoors unless it's an extremely still day outside and there's no wind around, as I seem to get more value and enjoyment from the cigar I'm smoking
