A couple of recent pics with my Pride and Joys, both were bought well under retail, ahh those were the days.
I managed to get around £700 knocked off a £4000 Omega from the Omega store in Leeds. They also threw in a free bottle of cologne which was something akin to cat’s piss.
Personally an AP fan. Patek are a nightmare to deal with or get hold of - they want you to buy loads of “undesirable” models before allowing you to order a Nautilus or Aquanaut.
I can’t bring myself to pay 2x retail to buy it on the secondary market
Ha, so true. Lots of foibles/piss taking with luxury watches these days, the Nautilus doesn't hack on most models so is a pain to set the time, and the AP RO Jumbo doesn't have a quickset date so again a pain to set the date. But then these are emotional, heart purchases and not rational buys, at least not until recently when they have become great investments.
Indeed they are. I bought the misses a lovely vintage rose gold Rolex date before the quickset on the date just, like you said pain in the arse to set compare to my datejust but a lovely time piece
To be fair until a few years ago rolex clasps were horrific - felt like an aluminium can. Luxury good take the piss because they can.

They are comfy but the problem is no adjustability, same on the Nautilus, so that is an area where Rolex are far ahead, esp with their glidelock clasp. The rubber has to actually be cut so you can't even take it off to adjust it, so some people I know have two straps one for winter and one for summer cut at different lengths.
Didn’t know that, given the price I wouldn’t of expected that at all.
