I managed to get around £700 knocked off a £4000 Omega from the Omega store in Leeds. They also threw in a free bottle of cologne which was something akin to cat’s piss.

Personally an AP fan. Patek are a nightmare to deal with or get hold of - they want you to buy loads of “undesirable” models before allowing you to order a Nautilus or Aquanaut.

I can’t bring myself to pay 2x retail to buy it on the secondary market

    Omega Planet Ocean. I think it’s about due a service. I haven’t checked in a while but I’m sure it’s around £500.

But then these are emotional, heart purchases and not rational buys, at least not until recently when they have become great investments.
Indeed they are. I bought the misses a lovely vintage rose gold Rolex date before the quickset on the date just, like you said pain in the arse to set compare to my datejust but a lovely time piece

Yup and when they do put an adjustable clasp on them the price will be knocked up a grand or three.

The rubber has to actually be cut so you can't even take it off to adjust it, so some people I know have two straps one for winter and one for summer cut at different lengths.
