Just been visited by a tobbaco addiction sister, which I said straight away, I only smoke a couple a week do not wish to give up or need the nicotine patch she offered!

Thanks guys. Had the op yesterday morning, was expected to last 40mins, took a couple of hrs due to the gross inflammation, didn't get back to the ward until 13:30. Was invited to go home but declined.
My wife can't drive in the dark so couldn't return me if needed & pain relief would be better controlled in hospital & I would continue to have I.V. antibiotics.
So minimal problem with pain in abdomen, but getting referred pain right shoulder, that's a little annoying.
Just glad, as I have built up this number of stones over many yrs, I never had this flare up onboard!

Cheers guys, last post on this thread. Wife parked the Jag well inside the lines of the hospital car park & when I managed to get there someone had left their mark. Small white car parked next to my wife at the same time. No longer there when we arrived, nor any information under the windscreen wiper. Naturally.
Apart from some rather annoying right shoulder pain, supposedly caused by CO2 under the diaphragm, which should disappear today, I am doing fine π
