Haha. That’s exactly how I feel about some of my boxes. Best always get a few singles on top of a box...
This is what I am now trying to do with new boxes. Two extra singles.
One to smoke fairly early, say, within the first few months. The second after a year or so.
The box then gets disturbed at 2-3 years with the idea of smoking one or two per year.

ive started to do the same with the few boxes I have picked up recently but because they are LE's. But I've mostly singles. Which from the look of a lot of collections is certainly no the norm. My split is about 300 singles/200 boxed.

I have a ton of singles as well. I started purchasing lots of them last year because I was tired of my: "do I break into the box or not"....
Heck I even started buying a second box of stuff that I couldn't brake into. Keep one intact and smoke one.
