I've been drying my tobacco out more and packing lighter. I can get through a full bowl with not much more than 2 or 3 relights.

Dryness certainly has an effect. I have never been a tight packer as such.. though i'm also averaging 2 to 3 relights these days.

How is the Brandy flavouring? Is it very obvious or quite laid back?

I thought it was quite laid back. It certainly doesn't have that overly cased taste/flavour. I wrote this about it in a blog:
The tin aroma is salivatingly good though, due to not being a cognac drinker, I couldn?t detect what the added flavouring is. Its appearance is a handsome blend of browns and blacks contains ribbons of Virginia and Cavandish tobaccos. The moisture content is perfect and packed well into the bowl. When lit the tobacco is a soft and lovely taste with no soapiness, no fake sugariness, no tongue bite, no harshness, even to the end. A great tobacco and perhaps one of the best aromatics I have smoked to date. If it weren?t for composing this post and losing concentration I think any relights would be at the very minimum.
Recommended for a light, but full flavoured, smoke.

Haven't had a smoke for a few days and this bowl of Early Morning Pipe is fabulous. It does have a tendency to bit though if not careful.

I ventured off on a bit of a tangent today. Usually I like big bold tobacco, but fancied giving something else a try. I got some Gowith Kendal American Coffee Caramel, and I've got to say it made a lovely after dinner smoke.

Didn't get much in the way of coffee, just a hint really but the caramel came through quite well.

Tucky, if you dry it out a bit so that it doesn't clump together when you squeeze it it will give you a more consists any burn. I've started drying out and have reduced my relights significantly. I also pack lighter too, which makes a huge difference.
