  • Agree with the above, would throw Caol Ila into the mix, love the 12 and the 18.

    • I've had a bottle of Caol Ila 12 and a few drams if Bowmore. Really enjoyed the Call Ila, Bowmore not so much. Caol Ila is fantastic though, one of my favourites. Port Charlotte is another excellent one, thoroughly enjoyed those drams.

      • Caol Ila 12 defo is one to try if you like Ardbeg 10. Port Charlotte too. Another I'd recommend is Ledaig 10, whilst not an Islay whisky it's a great peated drop and has a nice maritime (salty) taste to it.

Quality not quantity needs to be the emphasis in my view and that seems to have been lost recently for me
          Quality not quantity?
It's about time places outside Cuba did the same for cigars don't you think?

When it comes to quality so many are desperate for Cuba to catch up

What, the arran? Abunadh is my all time fave, I'd appreciate an alternative

Definitely give the Arran Sherry Cask a try then I'd say.

Spicy on the finish too, but that might be the 55.8% talking!

                    Would recommend!

Aye, that's the one. Great dram.

                    • Recently got a bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail as a birthday present. Oooooo boy, that's a drink and a half. I really like Ardbeg 10 anyway, this cask strength bottling along with the sweetness from the sherry casks is delicious. Just have to be a bit more judicious with how often I drink it because it's a little rich to be a regular!

                      • Just been through this little lot. Sampling! Only one I liked was the peated one. Very lightly peated mind.

                        Hic.

I’ve had it many times. Very nice whiskey and great value for money.

                            • On Saturday some friends and I enjoyed Suntory Yamazaki Distillers Reserve with a Montecristo Open Eagle. Paired quite nicely together
