As much as I agree (and will join you as we have a TO miniherf that day), some people with work Thursday may not take our side..

                • I hope that everyone has a wonderful time. I visited the venue on Saturday and it looks very nice, also a pleasure to meet you, Robert. I had intended to sample a cigar there in the afternoon but it didn't happen. Still a bit shy and lacking self confidence as a newbie to smoke a cigar in the company of others. Hopefully with a bit more experience of smoking cigars I will be ready to attend herfs like this one but at present feel I might find it a bit overpowering and smoky.
                  Best wishes, Marc

                  • Looking forward to this! It's a good day for me as weekends are usually too busy. Will be up for a small glass of something locally afterwards too I think

I've been think about that too james. There is the American bar in a little side street opposite, with some limited seating outside. They are cigar friendly too!

Glad it's not just me then!! On the train, heading to London! If only I could fast forward the next 24 hours.

Hey, I know exactly how you feel (see my post a bit earlier in this thread). I'm apprehensive too, but unless I've totally misjudged the warm welcome on this forum, I can't think of a better bunch to make my mistakes with (while building a bit of confidence). I'm very new to all this (forums and cigars) and it can look a bit intimidating (again, forums and cigars!). I suppose I could carry on at home with the veg knife and dodgy lighter, buy accessories which might do the trick or might not, and one day maybe feel a bit more confident. It's not in my nature to take things head on, but I reckon I'll enjoy cigars a lot more when I'm alone after I've enjoyed them with others and learned a few things. I'd say come on down tomorrow if you can. I'll be the one with my hair on fire, or some other cigar disaster pending.

                          • Marc I am going to put you down as a maybe.

Try to make it - you will be among friends.
I'm sure there are greater things in life than a fine cigar ........... but right now I can't think what they might be.
