Cgars is a good place to start, they do a Cuban Robusto sampler if I remember right. Personally I’d recommend picking up a selection of Petit Coronas, they give you an intro to the flavour profiles of the different Marcas at around half the price of Robustos.

Right well I took the advice and ordered myself a few little samplers 4 x H Upmann Regalias Petit Corona, Jose L Piedra Mixed Selection Sampler - 3 Cigars and 1 Fonseca Cosacos most likely not the best choices trying to keep costs down whilst I sample

Welcome along Drew to the wonderful world of cigars and to the forum. In no time at all the ‘rabbit hole’ will loom large and you will be working on your excuses as to how your collection grew

                Welcome aboard.

For a lighter tasting Cuban robusto, you can't go wrong with a Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure no.2.

My two personal favourites are the Ramon Allones Specially Selected and Juan Lopez no.2.

Regalias are good smokes. JLP aren’t to everyone’s taste, the Petit Cazadores is the one that seems to get the best feedback. I quite like JLP, never amazing, rarely disappoints.

The good thing about starting at the bottom end is if you like them that’s great and if you don’t there’s only better options to try 😆.

Make sure you buy an airtight container, some Boveda packs and a digital hydrometer as well. Essential even if you’re only keeping a small number of sticks.
