Yes ... but it is OK to question the musical merit of the album and the artists ability as an artist, that's critique not lible.

An even worse state when there involved over a forum post!

Tis like the difficult 2nd album.
A sad state when lawyers are involved even before anything is released.

I now think the post Nino reproduced was probably aimed far more at the CA thread than us, shame. Nino, feel free to comment.
Still MRN is so pissed off he has now clearly said Fvck you to the wider community and also acknowledged he aparrently intends to control the market.
I'm sure the book will be great but I am not sure the man is by his current actions.

No, it's just a book Monk, not a new BMW Series with an engineering update pre-planned for 2018.Originally posted by monkey66 View PostAlso it is normal to spread a release 'over 5 years' or could this be described as commercially aggressive.
Did anyone else read the 'no entry level version' as a big up-yours to the community?
Hardly surprising. If the books a turkey we'd slaughter it. It would also raise the question; what sort of idiot pays $5000 for something they might get for ?14.50?

MRN 2nd Edition
No this is over at CA, some things that the author has "supposedly" done and said in the past involving the US customs were mentioned and it wasn't liked.
I think the down under thread disappeared because of the complaints about the price.

Nope...That isn't normal for sure. Very odd thing to do.Originally posted by monkey66 View PostSteve is it normal to give away nearly half of the pre release effectively cutting the availability to 300? Absolutely, if you don't thin it's worth/can't afford the 10K entrance fee your just riffraff is how it comes across but watch what you say as legal action has been threatened in another thread about this book :scary:Originally posted by monkey66 View Post

He's not keeping a chunk!... It's only 10 copies. Most authors do this when a limited edition is released: the first 10 or so go to the author, the next 10 for the artist (if there is this one) and the next 30-50 at kept by the publisher. Fairly normal practice

So there will be no "entry level" book and the sales will break down like this.
0001 - 0010 Kept by MRN himself.
0011 - 0100 Gifts to persons involved in the book production (personally signed by MRN).
0101 - 0200 Gifts to MRN’s friends (unsigned copies).
0201 - 0500 Discounted pre-sale copies .
0501 - 2000 Full price copies released over a 5 year period.
So, as I suspected old Ronie boy is keeping a chunk... And then expecting people he couldn't give two hoots about to cover the cost of his inner circle and to subsidise his outer circle.
At least he's actually admitting it now.
WHAT A CROCK!
