That pike looks like a fairly long fish too. That is a nice looking carp also.
    Absolutely loving the boat.

I agree. A lot of tackle now is designed to catch the angler and not the fish. I still class myself a an all rounder
but have done mainly carp fishing for quite a few years now. A 40lb mirror in the 80's was some achievement.

It was I'll dig a picture out

Amount of times I've sat on my own on a lake and some teat sets up near you crashing leads all over your swim without even coming over to ask where your fishing etc.....

That is a very nice Common. Well done on the capture. The Koi is a cracker too.
I actually managed to catch a 33lb 13oz Koi at the beginning of October last year. I still cannot get my head
around catching Koi when fishing. They are stunning fish though.

You are correct Joss. Fishing is such a relaxing sport. I can imagine smoking a nice cigar or two while I am bankside.
I will take photos and post them.

Mine was caught on boilie Tony, and yes it has become a very expensive game has carp fishing.
I do not have a baitboat anymore but I have owned one in the past. Some anglers class them as cheating.
It is probably the most controversial piece of kit used by anglers.

    The lake sounds great oskihen.

It's a lovely lake hardly fished in the middle of some sheep fields , but a bloody hard lake that weekend only had three out but totalled 61.5 .
Had quiet a few members from mid Kent down there and have all blanked .

Thanks for the photos johnny those pike must of give you a nice scrap before you landed them
and that carp looks a beauty.
What did you catch the carp on boilies or floating baits
tell you what this carp fishing is getting very expensive with all the gear that goes with it.
Have you got the remote control boat that takes the bait exactly where you want it then just tips it over .

Im not a fisherman myself but I can imagine that its the perfect excuse to relax and light up a stogie. Very relaxing I'll bet. Had a few goes on the Dee many years ago but never caught a thing.

That is a very valid point Simon and Tommy. My 23lber was shorter than that at 107cm.

Agreed Tommy, length measure age not condition, i.e. a long old thin fish is rated above a shorter healthier one. The best option is to take both measurements, it's possible if you're quick. For the record this was also my longest pike at 112cms.
